miltassia toscana
Feb. 16, 2015: This wonderful orchid is called Miltassia and is a cross between Miltonia and Brassia. I am not completely convinced that it is Miltassia Toscana, but it's the closest thing I could find on the internet. The plant looks very healthy and though I'll be repotting pretty much immediately, everything else looks fantastic. Great roots, lots of pseudobulbs, a new flower spike, tons of formed buds, it's just a dream. Repotting scares me a little with the new spike, but I just don't think I can stand to wait as I know this guy is sitting in potting soil and needs better drainage.
Feb. 18, 2015: I felt like I should add a photos that more accurately shows how crazy long these flowers are. You can see that from the tip of the upper sepal to the bottom of the lower two, each flower is about 10"!
